Description

The poolife NST Prime tablets are an excellent product to sanitize your pool in an easy way without over stabilizing the swimming pool water. These slow dissolving cal-hypo tablets are designed to be able to be used with the poolife NST Feeder or in a skimmer. Not only will this chlorine tablet sanitize your pool by destroying bacteria and organic contaminants, but it will not lose chlorine due to over stabilzation from cyanuric acid. The NST Prime Tablets are compatible with chlorine, salt chlorine generators, ozone and mineral systems. Use these convenient tablets to help keep your pool water as clean and safe as possible.

Dosage

1 Tablet per 10,000 gallons of water per week or as need to maintain a chlorine residual of 1-4 ppm.

DIRECTIONS

SKIMMER DIRECTIONS:

Do not allow this product in any chlorinating device which has previously contained other chemicals.

  1. Use in pools with a skimmer and skimmer basket.
  2. Skimmer basket should be free of all other water treatment.
  3. Place tablet in the empty skimmer basket.
  4. Replace with a new tablet as needed. Do not mix with other products or dissolve before use.

WATER BALANCE:

For optimum product performance, swimmer comfort and crystal clear water, always maintain pH from 7.2 to 7.6, total alkalinity from 60 to 120 ppm and calcium hardness above 200 ppm. Test frequently using a reliable test kit that measure all the above ranges. Use Poolife pool care products to make adjustments. Follow label directions for each product. Do not enter pool until free available chlorine residual is 1-4 ppm for each of the below water treatment applications.

ROUTINE CHLORINATION:

For best results, see Water Balance section before treatment. Throughout the pool season, adjust pH to 7.2 to 7.6. Begin using 1 tablet of this product per 10,000 gallons of pool water. After one day, use a suitable test kit to check free available chlorine residual. Increase or decrease the number of tablets to maintain a free available residual of 1-4 ppm.

FEEDER DIRECTIONS:

  1. Before use, read the appropriate operating manual for your Poolife NST Prime feeder.
  2. Check for chlorine residual with a reliable test kit.
  3. Fill the Poolife NST Prime Feeder with NST Prime tablets only. Adjust the chlorine feed rate setting according to the operating instructions in the feeder manual.
  4. After 24 hours, check the chlorine residual. If it is 1-4 ppm, leave the feed rate setting. If the chlorine residual is below 1 ppm, increase the feed rate. Allow sufficient time (e.g. one day) after changing the feed rate setting for the chlorine residual to readjust. The pool should not be re-entered until a 1-4 ppm chlorine residual is established.
  5. Always maintain pH between 7.2 and 7.6 by using a suitable pH adjuster according to directions on the label for such products.
  6. If cyanuric acid is used to stabilize available chlorine, follow the label directions for this product and maintain the chlorine residual at 1-4 ppm as determined by the test kit.

PRODUCT FAQ'S

Algae are microscopic plants that grow in water. They are usually green, but can also be blue-green, black, yellow or mustard. Algae can grow on the pool surface or float in the water. Algae can turn pool water green, which can literally happen overnight.

You need to shock your pool water when opening and closing your pool. You should also shock treat weekly during the pool season to kill bacteria and algae and remove contaminants. We recommend shocking at the same time and on the same day each week. The optimum time to shock your pool is sundown. At this time of the day, the chlorine can work without fighting the sun’s ultraviolet rays. The pool should be left uncovered after shocking the pool. Shocking after sundown also gives chlorine more time to restore the water clarity.

If this happens, use Poolife® Back to Blue® Shock System, which can restore water clarity in 24 hours. To treat common algae like green and yellow, use Poolife® Algae Bomb® 30, Poolife® Defend+® or Poolife® Super Algae Bomb® 60 algaecides, which, when used in conjunction with a Poolife® shock product, cleans up both green and yellow algae. Mustard and black algae are more difficult to remove, so we recommend using Poolife® Mustard Algae Treatment product or Poolife® AlgaeKill II product. Poolife® has additional algaecides to address other specific needs. Always follow product label directions carefully.

The build-up of cyanuric acid in swimming pool water resulting from the use of stabilized sanitizers in conjunction with stabilized shock products. • Overstabilization will significantly decrease the effectiveness of chlorine in killing bacteria and algae. • Small levels of cyanuric acid (20–50 ppm) do serve a purpose in protecting chlorine from sunlight degradation. However, too much will negate any benefit and cause problems. • Calcium Hypochlorite-based shock products such as Poolife® TurboShock® , and Poolife® Rapid Shock® shock treatments will not increase the stabilizer level in your pool.

Always add stabilizer before adding Poolife® chlorinators. The stabilizer must be added slowly through the skimmer while the pump is operating.Allow at least 48 hours for the stabilizer to dissolve before backwashing or cleaning the filter.

The cyanuric acid level and the climate determine whether you need to add stabilizer to your pool. You should take a sample of your pool water to your Authorized Poolife® Dealer for a detailed analysis and recommendation or you can use test strips to determine the stabilizer level. When opening your pool, if you choose to use stabilizer, the stabilizer level should be 20–50 ppm. During the swimming season, the ideal stabilizer level should be maintained between 20–50 ppm. Chlorine isn’t as effective if the stabilizer level rises above 90 ppm. Remember some chlorinators add stabilizer as the chlorine dissolves into the water.
