Leisure Time Brom Tabs provide a concentrated source of active bromine that is ideal for hot tub sanitizing. This product creates a faster bromine residual for spa start-up. They dissolve slowly and evenly, and they fit in most spa feeders and floaters to provide continuous disinfection of your spa. These tabs are formulated based on Dantabrom chemistry. Dantabrom chemistry creates a better dissolution rate in a floating feeder. Brom Tabs low-dusting tablet shape fits most floating feeders to give you the effectiveness of chlorine without the chlorine odor.

Dosage

0.015 to 0.1 lb per 300 gallons of water.

Directions

Using a suitable feeder adjusted according to the manufacturers directions, add this product to maintain an active bromine concentration of 2 to 4 ppm in residential spas and 3 - 6 ppm in commercial spas. Use a reliable test kit to monitor bromine regularly. This products usage will typically vary from 0.015 to 0.10 pound for every 300 gallons of spa water to maintain the recommended bromine concentration range. The presence of organic debris, high bather use and other factors may require a higher dosage.

PRODUCT FAQ'S

Although the pH and total alkalinity measurements are the same, the sanitizer level (bromine or chlorine) should be kept between 3-5 ppm. In a spa, the filter requires more frequent cleanings. In addition, the water will require more frequent care to assure pH and sanitizer levels are correct. For further details, please see our spa care guides.

Controlling the pH in a spa can be challenging. Using Leisure Time® pH Balance Plus every time the spa is refilled will lock the pH in the proper range until the spa is drained again (usually 90 days).

It is recommended that you add this “bank” in order to ensure that the sanitizer in the water is all bromine from the moment you first start using it.

Too little calcium in the water can cause foaming and corrosion, particularly in heaters and other metal components. To increase the hardness to the recommended level of 150-400 ppm, add a calcium hardness increaser such as Leisure Time® Calcium Booster. Too much calcium can cause scaling on the walls and heating elements or cloudy water. To prevent calcium in the water from causing these problems, add a sequestering agent such as Leisure Time® Defender.

Ozone is a highly reactive oxidizing agent. Some people are under the impression that ozone will destroy clarifiers and make them ineffective. We have found, however, that ozone does not affect the effectiveness of clarifiers. Clarifiers do provide a very real benefit in ozonated spas by helping the filter keep the water clean.

The dishwasher may damage the fabric on the filter. The best way to clean your filter is to soak it in a bucket of water with Leisure Time® Filter Clean. This will ensure that all oils, lotions and minerals will be removed from the filter. For quick cleanings, use Leisure Time® Instant Cartridge Clean.
